Located in the far south of Tunisia, Tataouine offers desert landscapes, ochre-colored hills, and Berber traditions that are slowly disappearing. This region is famous for its troglodyte villages and the impressive ksour—ancient fortified granaries scattered across the hills.
EXCURSION PROGRAM :
Departure from your hotel via the Roman Causeway towards Tataouine.
Photo stop at the famous salt lake of Chahbania.
Arrival in Tataouine, known for its former French prison: visit the spice market and the town center.
Continue to Chenini, a Berber village dominated by a rocky crest and overlooked by an ancient mosque. On the way, stop at Ksar Ouled Soltane, one of the best-preserved collective granaries.
Lunch in Chenini at Restaurant Kenza (or similar).
Guided visit of the Berber village of Chenini.
Departure to Ksar Hadada, famous as a filming location for Star Wars.
Return to Djerba via the Roman Causeway.

The Ksours : These are heritage granaries of Arab and Berber origin. Built on hilltops, these fortified structures once served as defense points, agricultural storage, or even places of residence.
Chenini :A Berber-speaking troglodyte village in southern Tunisia, perched on the top of a rocky hill. From its heights, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view.
