EXCURSION TO TOZEUR

Departure from Djerba or Zarzis

A unique and complete tour from Djerba and Zarzis that covers the very best of southern Tunisia. Discover mountain oases where water gushes from the rocks, waterfalls, canyons, fine sand dunes overlooking the largest Star Wars set in Tunisia, lush palm groves, and one of the most beautiful medinas in the country. Two days of discovery at your own pace.

PROGRAM :

Day 1

• Departure from your hotel towards the ferry crossing.

• Continue to Tozeur via El Hamma. On the way, stop to see the petrified sand of Debebcha and cross the immense Chott El Jerid, the largest salt lake in North Africa.

• Arrival at the hotel and lunch.

• In the afternoon, excursion to the famous mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza, at the edge of the Saharan Atlas mountains, known for their natural springs, waterfalls, and breathtaking scenery.

• Dinner and overnight at Hotel Ksar Rouge 4* (or similar).

Day 2

• Breakfast at the hotel and visit to the old medina of Tozeur.

• Departure towards Douz, the “Gateway to the Desert”, with the option of a camel or quad ride in the white sand dunes (extra).

• Continue to Matmata, the troglodyte village. Visit a traditional underground house and enjoy lunch with a local family.

• On the way back, stop for photos in the Berber village of Toujane.

• Return to Djerba via the Roman Causeway.
