4x4 CIRCUIT IN SOUTHERN TUNISIA

8 Days / 7 Nights

A complete 4x4 circuit through the whole of southern Tunisia, designed for families, groups, or couples. From Djerba to Tozeur, passing through the ksour of the Dahar mountains and the vast Sahara Desert, this journey reveals the magical and authentic landscapes of Tunisia. Along the way, you will meet local people, exchange stories, and experience their way of life. Thanks to the enchanting mix of culture, traditions, landscapes, and natural treasures, this adventure becomes a truly unforgettable experience.

PROGRAM:

 

Day 1: Arrival in Djerba

  • Arrival in Djerba. Welcome, transfer, and hotel check-in.
  • Possibility of a walk in town.
  • Dinner and overnight in Djerba.

 

Day 2: Discovering the Ksour

 

  • After breakfast, departure via the Roman Causeway towards Tataouine. Visit of the city.
    Continue to Chenini, a Berber village nestled in the mountains, known for its ksour and troglodyte houses.
    Lunch included.
  • Stop at Ksar Haddada, one of the Star Wars filming locations.
  • Arrival at Ksar Ghilane, an exotic oasis in the Sahara famous for its thermal spring (swimming possible).
    Optional activities: 1h quad ride or camel excursion to admire the sunset and visit the old Roman fort in the desert.
  • Dinner, Saharan evening, and overnight in tents at the camp.

 

Jour 3: Découverte du Jerid

Après le petit-déjeuner, départ pour Tozeur. Traversée du Chott El Djérid, lac de l’antiquité, mer de chimères et de féerie inquiétante par ses mirages où, selon la légende, des armées entières disparurent à jamais. Visite de l’ancienne ville de Tozeur. Installation et déjeuner. Après-midi parcours aventure dans la palmeraie. Retour et visite du magnifique musée d’art traditionnel Dar Chéraït. Dîner et logement à l’hôtel.

 

 

Day 3: Discovering the Djerid

  •  After breakfast, departure for Tozeur, crossing the Chott El Jerid, the legendary salt lake of mirages where, according to legend, entire armies disappeared.
  • Visit the old town of Tozeur. Hotel check-in and lunch.
    In the afternoon, adventure in the palm grove.
  • Return to visit the traditional art museum Dar Chéraït.
  • Dinner and overnight in Tozeur

Day 4: Escapade to the Mountain Oases

  •  After breakfast, excursion to the stunning mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza, and Midès—natural paradises that have long inspired international filmmakers.
  • Return to the hotel for lunch.
  • Optional afternoon adventure to the dunes of Ong Jmel, another famous Star Wars site (extra).
  • Dinner and overnight in Tozeur.

Day 5: In My Underground House…

  • Breakfast, then departure for Matmata, the troglodyte village.
  • Visit a traditional underground house with locals, then explore the Berber village itself—authentic and far from the crowds.
  • Dinner and overnight in Toujane, hosted by locals.

Day 6: Discovering the Island of the Lotophagi…

 

  • Breakfast and departure for the island of Djerba.
  • Visit Guellala, the pottery village, and attend a workshop demonstration. Optional visit to the Museum of Traditional Arts.
  • Continue to the Ghriba Synagogue, the oldest Jewish place of worship in North Africa.
  • Head to Houmt Souk, the capital of Djerba, with free time to stroll in the souks.
  • Lunch by the sea with freshly grilled fish.
  • Return to your hotel for check-in and overnight stay.

Day 7: Free Day

  • Relaxation day in a seaside hotel or guesthouse in Djerba.

Day 8: Departure

 

  • Free time and transfer to the airport according to flight schedule.
  • Return home with unforgettable memories.
